‘The Untied States of America’ date : 2008 size : 38” x 28” medium : oil on canvas and collage on wood notes : In this painting, Jones takes the Stars and Stripes as his point of departure, banishing the fifty stars of the union to the outer edge of the compostion. comment : “I did a version of this in the early '90s, but it got damaged so I re-created it; this is a much better piece than the original.”
